This week is Program A with our U6-8 program from 0830-1000 and our U9 -Open group from 0945-1200. It is Duty Roster A. All events can be viewed under the schedule tab.

We would like to get a group photo of all age groups in their PB hats between 0950-10am ish to give to our sponsor Kiddy Optical, if athletes could remember to bring their PB hat along this week and a cheesy grin it would be great. This Saturday we will also have a professional photographer at the track taking some action shots of our athletes, photos will be available via his web site. Details to follow.

A reminder next week is WMR for athletes who have entered at our track so there is no local competition next Sat 17th. Parking will be at a premium, consider alternate modes of transport if you are local to the track. A reminder to all athletes who have entered parents will also have a duty to complete, duties may include BBQ, track or field duties or car park Management, we will endeavour to ensure you do not miss your child competing. Full uniform and patch must be worn on the day.

This Saturday we desperately need a BBQ helper for both sessions, the early session needs to be at the track by ‪8am‬ to warm up the BBQ late shift would be from 10am please email williamstownpresident@lavic.com.au if you can assist. Canteen will be available this Sat serving hot coffee, cold drinks and snacks.

Our season is nearing its end, the last week for U6 athletes is Feb 24th with all U7-Open athletes invited to register for centre championships on the 3rd March. This Sat 10th Feb is the FINAL DAY TO REGISTER, please complete registration form in the Pavillion by 12pm. For entry conditions see the News item listed under the News tab.

The end of the Summer Program means that our Winter cross country season is also nearing, it is a fun informal season where athletes can compete in distances ranging from 1km-3km. Our home is Newport Lakes but we also have the opportunity to run at other local and regional events. We would love some parents to help with the weekly set-up and time keeping which are easy and quick roles, with guidance from our current team it is a great way to contribute to the successful running of the competition, if you would like more information or happy to assist please email williamstownpresident@lavic.com.au.

The success of the club is only as great as our volunteers and we have been very fortunate to have had many dedicated parents who assist us weekly and throughout the season to ensure a successful competition for our children. This year some of our long standing committee members are in the final years of their athletes competing and we are looking for volunteers to assist us for the following 2018/19 season. It is a great opportunity to connect with the club and assist in shaping the future of Williamstown Little Athletics, our upcoming AGM will see vacancies for Secretary, Uniforms and General Committee, if you would like more information on how to be involved email Ashley at williamstownpresident@lavic.com.au. You will be guided in transition to these roles and all you need is the willingness to assist.

This Saturday also sees the Commonwealth Games Baton Relay visit Hobson’s Bay, athletes are encouraged to attend anywhere along the route from Commonwealth Reserve to The Surf Life Saving Club and wear their centre uniform to cheer on the Baton bearers.

Don’t forget to keep an eye out on your pb tally at the noticeboard near the toilets and come see Emma, Fran or Carli to collect your pb awards.
